First Album Review!

Morning Friends!
First album review!
Super stoked for the kind words and being able to share the stories with you all.
Also, on the same lineup with some other stellar Michigan peeps!
Like the oh so fine, The Real Ingredients.

"Some albums require – or perhaps induce – a contemplative mood. Pianist and singer Eliza Thorp’s debut is just such a collection, unfolding subtly and brilliantly, with gorgeous, thought-provoking lyrics that reflect her northern Michigan upbringing in Petoskey. Recorded, mixed and mastered at Kalamazoo’s La Luna Recording, Thorp – a graduate of the Berklee College of Music – enhances her reflective music with the perfect accompanists: cello phenom Jordan Hamilton and upright bassist Max Lockwood, both of whom deliver melancholy accents that combined with Thorp’s poignant lyrics can bring a listener to tears. While many of Thorp’s musical stories embrace a bewitching, dreamlike quality, “Unravel These Days” boasts the sort of piano-propelled hook that will stick in your head for a long time." – John Sinkevics

A little update and wee taste

Whoa there friends, I am so excited to share with you a little taste of whats been coming out of the magical La Luna studio down in Kalamazoo. This past week we finished tracking cello with The Jordan Hamilton, this guy is so, so awesome. I was continually amazed at the magic he was pulling out, it’s going to be really hard to hold all of these tracks and wait until the official release date. Oh boy. Did I mention this is just a rough? Yeah, because the wizard, Ian Gorman, is just. that. good.

Stay tuned and happy holidays. Hope you get to spend some time with your loved ones and outside with the furry ones.

La Luna Recording Studio-Kalamazoo

Hey there Sweet People!

I have been in the studio laying down some piano and vocal tracks for my forthcoming EP titled “Queen Of The Sea.” The sound wizard of La Luna, Ian Gorman, has been capturing the sounds and blending them all together for some sweet, sweet jam.

I can’t wait to share it with you all.

Much love,

Peg's Piano Sessions

This is the inaugural track from Peg's Piano Sessions. These sessions were inspired by my Grandmother Peg and are played exclusively on her old Upright Piano. This first song "Two Trees in the Backyard" came about during a recent hike with my dog Mia at the fantastic trail at Round Lake Nature Preserve.

The track can be found here;

Let the Mixing begin....

The recording is just about complete and the mixing has now started! However, during a recent studio day a new song beckoned to come into the fold.  I hadn't originally planned on putting this song on the album, but it turned into something of a personal anthem that I hope resonates with whomever listens to it. As you are, you are enough.

You can find a little smidgen of that tune at the link below.....

New Album
